“ 15 minute wait for lunch. We were seated and were given the option of chips and salsa. The medium had a nice kick to it. I ordered the Camarones Rancheros with the homemade flour tortillas. Yum. It came with rice and grilled bell peppers. Yum. Then I had a Mexican Coke. All in all. It was a good experience. I would come back. ”

“ Mi Ranchito is a "burrito place" located on Buffalo Gap Road. They have both a drive-thru and a sit down area inside. I will start off acknowledging that this is NOT my first time being here, although I have only done breakfast burritos with the drive-thru. Some of the best breakfast burritos in town, easily. I highly recommend coming here for those. This review will focus on the lunch menu and our experience. Atmosphere: A rather large sitting area inside with room for several groups. Nice Mexican atmosphere with murals on the walls. 1 Star Service: We arrived shortly after 11am and the place was already hopping! We didn't have to wait more than about 10 minutes even though they looked short-handed on wait staff. Even with the apparent lack of wait staff we didn't need for anything and our waitress was very friendly. She was running all over helping do dishes! 2 Stars Food: As with the breakfast burritos, the food was top-notch! Very tasty. They provide (by request) up to 3 different salsas: mild, medium, or hot. All were good! The wife got 3 enchiladas (two cheese with queso on top, and one chicken with verde sauce) and I got the Gran Burrito. Enchiladas came with refried beans and rice. Both sides were very good. Let's focus on one thing from her plate, the verde sauce. It was DELICIOUS!!! I wished I would have had my burrito smothered in it. If you order anything that can be topped with a sauce, this is what you want!!! Sweet and savory and creamy perfection. My burrito was also very good and was a giant portion. I did think the asada could have had some more flavor to it. It was a little on the bland side. That may be a little too harsh, but it definitely wasn't as tasty as I would have hoped. On my plate, the highlight was the charro beans. Beans, with some ground meat, onions, and bacon and a fantastic broth. So good!!! Overall: A wonderful place. which will be on our regular list from now on. So many other things on the menu to try. Would be 4.5 stars if I could. ”

I haven't tried anything else on the menu yet, and I really wish they hand longer hours, but as far as breakfast burritos go, this is the spot! ”

“ Passing thru Abilene and getting hungry. A quick review of Yelp brought us here. They only serve breakfast and lunch - close @ 2pm. We entered a store that is well decorated in Mexican motif. Actually kind of cool. Carved wood chairs and scenes painted in the wall. Grabbed a place to sit and menus arrived. We made our choices. Carne Guisada plate and a Barbacoa Burrito something we hadn't had in awhile. The meals arrived on short order. The Guidsada was excellent. The meat was tender and well seasoned, the tortillas were hot and just right for soaking up the gravy. The barbacoa burrito was also flavorful and loaded with the meat. Our lunch & the service was great. I'm glad we stopped here. ”

“ This place just gets better and better. The Houston brothers, sons, and grandson met for lunch today. A perfect meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The chips and salsa were wonderful. I had the Chile En Nogada, a poblano pepper stuffed with bistek and cheese. Then covered in queso and some roasted veggies. I guess it's a chili rellano that hasn't been battered and fried. It was delicious! I mean fantastic! I will definitely order this again. It came with charro beans and some roasted veggies, both were wonderful. The only downside was some drinks never got refilled, while some of us walked to the counter for a refill. They also ran out of chips. I've never heard that before! But still, a great meal, so 5 stars! ”
